Day 6

Writer's picture: Rachelle HudsonRachelle Hudson

Today we walked around a farm, we pet lots of animals, ate candy, walked in a creek, learned how to loom, and played house. Living on a farm makes you live deliberately because you don'

t rely on stores for food and clothes and everything you need to live is on the farm,

The apple sat in the basket, we’ll call him golden Joe.

Warm in the rays of sun that fell from the window.

Joe was a golden delicious, born in late September.

All though he was only a few weeks old, this would be the last morning he remembered.

A thin tawny cat jumped onto the table and knocked down his wooden bowl

Joe rolled on floor, and out the dog’s door,

crashed into the tree of a vole.

He hoped that the vole wouldn’t see him,

for surely then he’d be eaten

Then he hear a big sniff,

as the dog took a whiff,

hunting for the vole.

Joe felt slight relief, as the old brown hound would surely keep the rodent in its hole.

Then Joe felt a thud,

multiple steps in the mud.

Thud

Thud

Thud

The giant picked him up, just as it did when he hung from the tree.

It took him inside and washed him off, and smiled with its teeth

What happened next filled Joe with fright.

The giant took a giant bite.
